Yu & Felix both pitched 7 innings yesterday. Darvish gave up 2 runs in the 2nd off a singles hit by Zunino and Almonte. Darvish had 8 strikeouts and had a good outing other than the 2 runs in the 2nd. Felix pitched 7 scoreless innings with 4 hits and 9 K's. It appeared as though the Rangers were going to have yet another game where Darvish kept them in the game, but they were unable to score. In the bottom of the 8th, Charlie Furbush gave up a run on a Michael Choice Sac fly. The Rangers went into the 9th down 2-1. Pedro Figueroa pitched the top of the 9thfor the Rangers and ended the 1-2-3 inning with 13 pitches. Mariners closer, Fernando Rodney took over for Yoervis Medina and quickly got 2 quick out from Rios and Fielder. Kouzmanoff was able to keep the game alive with a single to centerfield off shortstop Brad Miller. He then walked Moreland. Donnie Murphy loaded the bases when Brad Miller racked up an error on a force out. To tie the game, Rodney threw a wild pitch that scored Kouzmanoff during Leonys Martin's at bat. Martin hit a walk off single to left field and scored moreland for a 3-2 win.
It's great to see the Rangers in a spot where their offense is starting to come alive. If the pitching continues to keep them in striking distance and the offense can back up the pitching, we have a shot of remaining above .500 throughout April.
