Rangers Opening Series Stats

We are only 3 games into the season, but my concerns from Spring Training are going away. The great thing we have seen in this series of 3 games is some fight and run production, which did not seem to exist at various points last year. You can’t win every game, but you want to see the team with some heart and fire and I believe we saw that in the last two walk off’s. Pitching has been a concern, but there seems to be a small light at the end of the tunnel with the announcement of Yu pitching on Sunday. Matt Harrison will be pitching the season opener for the Frisco Rough Riders, and if all goes well seems to be a few rehab starts away from hitting the rotation. Robbie Ross’s performance last night was a good place to start to keep him in the rotation. He had 7 Strikeouts and only gave up 2 earned runs. There was a few times he could have been in hot water, but was able to close out top of the inning with men on base.

I’m very happy with our start so far, and again it’s less than 2% of the games we will play, but it was a good 2%. The Rangers are off Thursday and traveling to play the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday. I’m Happy the Rangers won their opening series can’t wait to see what happens when we get the rotation a bit more stable.
