The Rangers pulled out a 7 to 6 Win last night against the cubs with a Michael Choice walk-off single. A ray of hope from an otherwise lackluster spring training, the Rangers are 6-12 and ranked last in the Cactus League. Before you panic, look at as a way for them to get the hard times and losing out of the way now. Who am I kidding? It’s a bit frustrating. I was able to watch the few games that have aired on television and there were times that we looked like a AAA team. Kouzmanoff leads the team with a .385 average, but some of his fielding at 3rd has been unimpressive.
I was very excited about this off-seasons moves, including the Kinsler move. On paper the team looks great, hoping that it starts to show when it counts at the start of the season. One positive thought, Michael Choice is looking great with a .381 AVG. On Pitching, seems like Darvish and Perez are the only two for sure spots in the rotation. Ogando who was thought to be a potential 3rd starter bombed last night. Other two starters at the beginning of the season are looking like Tommy Hanson and Joe Saunders. Jason Frasor had a solid inning last night and is looking like he is going to continue his great season from last year as a reliever.
Being last in spring training isn’t fun, but it’s only spring training. I’m excited to go to Opening Day on the 31st, and can’t wait for the season to start. Let’s Go Rangers!
